Pitch has seen just what the older Ombric has done to his younger self, and it made this plot all the better. He would put some merit behind those fears of his. Ombric was too busy to notice a figure skulking about in the darkness and with one fell swoop, he picks young Ombric up and disappears into the shadows before he could even make a sound of protest.
When they arrive at his lair he lays the young man down upon the bed, allowing him to wake up and realize where he is. Pitch just grins as his eyes begin to open.
"Ah good, you’re awake. I do hope you don’t mind the change in scenery."
Ombric the younger wasn’t the lightest sleeper in the world, but even noticed when he no longer felt the cool breeze and no longer heard the rustling of the leaves. Waking himself up he rubbed his eyes and shivered. “Why was he so cold, even in the winter Santoff Claussen wasn’t nearly this cold. Opening his eyes and blinking a few times he got his answer to why it was cold, and the shock of his life when he heard Pitch.
His first instinct was to grab his staff, and he reached for it. Encountering nothing but the bed he was on. With that option closed for now the young man pushed himself back against the wall staring at pitch, keeping him in eyesight. “What did you do? Why am I here? You know Ombric will save me. Why would you bother?” He asked quickly breathing shakily. Hoping his second to last statement was true.

Pitch could see him through the thicket of trees surrounding Big Root. He definitely resembles his older self and Pitch grins to himself, thinking of all the damage he could do. The young man already seemed to be on edge, most likely because his other self was being hard on him, though that is no surprise. Pitch is aware of how Ombric treated North, and he assumes it is no better with his young self.
He wonders just how much Ombric has taught him, and how powerful he is. Surely he’s got some training in him, but nothing compared to what he is now. Though he would love to have the seasoned wizard under his power, he knows that is easier said than done, but this one… well that is a different story. Not to mention, it will surely lure out his older counterpart.
He would wait until it became darker and most were asleep before swooping down and taking what he desires. Until then he will merely watch.
Ombric the younger had always been carefree when it came to life, everything seemed so easy and even his short run in with death when he had tried to fly had not driven him back from his carefree life. However when he came to the future with Ombric that carefreeness came to a crashing end. No longer could he lounge about and enjoy life. Now he had to deal with Fearlings and death and spells that made him want to rip his hair out.
Even him without any fear before had gained a healthy dose of fear. His older self had given him an almost phobia of pitch darkness. He could not go into the darkness, at least anything to dark to see without a sliver of fear rising into him. However in the safety of Santoff Claussen his fear was not that bad of the dark, the light of the lamps kept him good.
So as night dwindled down Ombric the younger decided to lay down in the light near a tree. It was comfortable and he loved to feel the power of nature near him while he slept. So sleep he did.
Riding on the back of a Lunar Moth wasn’t too different than riding on Kailash. The saddles were similar and so were the sizes between the one who had accepted to be her steed. Katherine hadn’t had much difficulty finding a spunky moth that was eager to help her with her travels, some of the others had mentioned it was younger and not so experienced… and Katherine didn’t mind that one bit.
The girl and moth traveled first to Santoff Claussen, for the girl needed to obtain her satchel, which was similar to the pack used on North and Ombric’s very first trip. However this one did not hold the weight of the items stashed inside. It was Mother Goose’s To Go kit, everything she generally had a common use for was inside it.
Along with a special map, a map that held the signatures of the other Guardians so that in any case she may be able to find her family. Very similar to North’s Compass, who’s remake was secure and safe in her satchel.
Pulling out the old parchment, Katherine opened the map and spoke the words of the spell that awakened the magic in it. Slowly the symbols of each guardian appeared with corresponding colors, each one pulsing with their present location.
Ombric was seen to be not that far from Katherine, within the confines of Santoff Claussen. In fact Ombric was only about fifty yards from the girl and had noticed her arrival. He had set out from Big Root to teach one of the newest members of the William family. William the entirely understandably youngest. He was having problems with learning some of the magic Ombric had been passing about to the other children and Ombric had decided to come teach the child himself.
He had actually been finishing up when he had noticed Katherine’s arrival, and after saying his goodbyes and leaving some sweets for the other william children Ombric made his way toward where he had seen Katherine going, A huge smile plastered across his face. It had been too long since Katherine had stopped by to say hi. He wondered what had brought her down from the moon. The lunar moth having proved she was not on earth before reaching Santoff Claussen.
Once within sight of her the smile grew wider and he quickly moved over to the girl. “Katherine dear it’s been so long. Have your travels taught you anything while you were gone? Have you been doing well? Practicing your magic? Is kailash doing well? You must tell me everything before you are off again dear.”
